Requisiti: "Entry Requirements This course is open to registered nurses and health care practitioners, normally having been qualified for a minimum of one year, with a minimum of one year experience in a speciality related to the routes available within the programme. Applicants should normally hold a 2.2 honours degree, or a diploma in a health related discipline and evidence of continuing professional development that shows an ability to study at master’s level  e,g  evidence of a..."

This programme has been developed to meet the needs and demands of new healthcare graduates and practitioners and their employers. The demand for post graduate education has been increasing as healthcare courses move towards an all graduate profession. This postgraduate certificate is aimed at graduates wanting to specialise in a chosen field of practice, and will provide a progression pathway for those wishing to continue to a full master’s programme.

WHY CHOOSE THIS COURSE?

If you have recently graduated with a healthcare degree and wish to develop your clinical skills in a specific area of practice, this programme allows you to access clinically focussed modules at Master’s level. It will enable you to manage clinical care competently, compassionately and effectively through leading on that care and leading others in the delivery of care.

Additionally, undertaking this programme will provide you with a clear progression pathway into a full Master’s award (e.g. the MSc Nursing programme) if you wish to continue your studies further.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

The programme consists of a mandatory Health Assessment Practice module (M69CPD) and the two clinical modules specific to the chosen route.

HOW WILL THIS COURSE BE TAUGHT?

This programme can be studied part time.

There are a combination of teaching methods used including workshops, and seminars.

The programme is supported by the University’s online learning space called Moodle. Here materials and resources are posted for students to read and prepare for sessions.

Specialist clinicians from practice will be invited to contribute where appropriate.

HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

This course uses a wide variety of assessment styles including traditional essay based course work and exams, but also some practical based assessments may be required in some modules. This will be dependent upon the modules chosen from the options. To find out about the different modules you can contact the module leaders or look at the module descriptors.

TEACHING CONTACT HOURS

This course uses a wide variety of teaching styles. Some modules may have 30 hours contact time and others may have blended learning consisting of online time and tutor contact times, some may solely be online.
