The main aim of a course in economics is to provide you the adequate microeconomic and macroeconomic theoretical tools necessary to model the economic behavior of consumers, domestic and foreign firms, and governments.
In particular, this course will help you understand which would be the main effects on production, demand, national income, and other variable if a major shock hits an economy. Using microeconomic and macroeconomic theory you will be able to adequately explain which are the consequences of adopting policy measures during a recession or a boom, which are the effects on profits of a particular competitive market structure, and other issues.
