The course serves as an introduction into the industrial organisation of tourism related industries. It analysis the characteristics of the supply of tourism related goods and services. It is focused on the challenges of competitiveness and productivity and explains how innovation and cooperation lead to structural changes and the emergence of new forms of organisation and new business models in the sector of tourism. The course analyzes characteristic tourism related industries such as travel organizations, civil aviation or accommodation. Cases of successful companies will be presented. The students have to understand the complex supply structures of tourism and the way how innovation. They have to master the analysis of the structure of tourism related industries and the business models of companies. They have to write and to present a Seminar Paper on a specific tourism related industry or company.
