With Edinburgh Business School, your MBA programme comes to you. Wherever you are, you can study for your MBA. That means you can continue in full-time employment or stay fully committed to your family duties.
Though you may study on your own, you will not be alone. This route includes the support of our teaching faculty and access to your fellow students through our online facilities such as MyGroups, which facilitates peer student contact with an emphasis on local groups. Come exam time, you will have all the help you need.
There are no compulsory residential elements to our MBA - though you can, if you wish, decide to take some courses on campus. All exams can be sat in one of our 370 exam centres around the world, including Malta.
There are seven core courses in the MBA programme. You also take two elective courses, chosen from an extensive range. Each course requires approximately 200 hours of study.
You work towards your MBA on a course-by-course basis. There is a degree of flexibility, and the courses which comprise the Edinburgh Business School MBA can be studied in any order, although the student handbook provides detailed guidance on the best order in which to study your courses. However, Strategic Planning should be taken as the final core course because it builds on the prior study of other courses.
There is no prescribed start date, and no limit on the duration of your studies.
After completing three courses, you are eligible for a Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration, and after six courses for a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration.
The postgraduate certificate and postgraduate diploma awards are formal recognition of your progress: they can also be used as exit awards.
Specialist awards are available at MBA level depending on your choice of courses.
Full information about courses and the best sequence of courses is available in the MBA student handbook.
