The center Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School of Florence present on emagister.it the course of Stone Setting – Incassatura for whom would like to begin a professional career in Jewellery sector.
The course of 9 months is based on theorical lessons and practical workshop (16-20 hours per week), which includes some weekly hours of Gemmology. Students will learn the sophisticated techniques of stone setting, really famous in Italy (especially in Tuscany) and work on semi-finished objects made of silver or other alloys, with high-quality, well-cut synthetic stones. Every exercises will be made for teaching the different setting techniques and at the end of the academic year, the student will be able to carry out very advanced work.
Short and intensive courses are organised in the summer period (July-September), and other courses are suggested in the Academic Courses.

Entry requisite: High school Diploma. It is a prerequisite for foreign students to have a basic knowledge of Italian. A B1-level Certificate(of the European Framework of Languages)awarded from an accredited language centre must be submitted to LAO.The student’s final admission to the school will also be subject to the seats availability.Students who are not in possession of this certificate will have to follow an Italian language test by August 31st at an accredited Italian Language School in Italy or in their respective countries.

Workshop lessons
Preparation of the tools of the trade.
Perforation and cutting of semi-finished articles for the introductory exercises.
Setting exercises using sheets of metal prepared previously.
Setting stones of different shapes and cuts.
Setting in finished objects (rings, pendants) in silver, specially prepared for the course.
The following types of setting are included in the programme:
Tile,
Triangle,
Leaf,
Screw,
Micro-settings,
Beaten settings,
various types of Claw,
Pavè,
Rail.
Lessons in gemology
The aim of these lessons is to give the students the essential information to allow them to approach gemology for the first time.
