Transport Malta Nautical LicenceStudying in Malta
A Nautical licence is required for any person using and operating a vessel equipped with an engine or engines the combined power of which is 30HP or more or to tow any person for the purpose of water skiing within the internal & territorial waters of Malta.
Before being able to sit for the Nautical Licence examination you must attend the First Aid, practical and theory course as described below.
Once the course (including First Aid) has been completed the Academy processes your required certification which are then taken to MCAST main office at Paola along with examination entry form and a copy of the both sides of your ID card.
Transport Malta will inform you of your exam date.
Exams are normally held at the Nautical Institute Kalkara better known (Villa Portelli) from 17:00hrs -20:00 hrs.
You will be told after the exam if you are successful or not.
