Working in English in the EU

The use of a second working language in the European professional environment and the correct understanding and use of the proper linguistic forms in different fields and situations are key elements to properly and successfully work with, or within the European Union.

Considering that English is one of the "second languages" most often used for education and professional activities, this course will provide an effective practical preparation in English written and oral communication, both as regards the functioning of the EU decision-making process and the work carried out in the European legal and business context.

The course will focus on the aspects of the English language peculiar to the European Union and on how to identify the proper English forms in different professional fields and situations. While dealing with and analyzing these matters, participants will expand their knowledge and abilities for using and managing legal and business instruments such as: understanding and drafting preparatory documents, planning talks and presentations for meetings and drafting reports.

In order to provide participants with the needed theoretical and practical tools, the sessions will include classes, workshops, simulations and working groups.

Presentations, exercises, case-studies and documentation will be delivered in English.
