Higher Apprenticeship in Care Leadership and Management (Adult Social Care Specialist Pathway)



Higher Diploma: Professional Practice in Leading and Managing Care Services



This programme provides leaders and managers in the Social Care sector with the advanced skills and knowledge to carry out specialist roles, as well as the opportunity to progress onto University graduate qualifications at Level 6 and beyond.



To achieve the Higher Diploma/Higher Apprenticeship you will need to complete:



1. The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (80 credits) with a College or a training provider



PLUS



2. two work based specialist modules (40 credits) with Middlesex University (which can be undertaken via distance learning).

The Higher Diploma/Higher Apprenticeship programme aims to:



Develop learners capabilities in line with the needs of the Care sector for a high quality workforce

Develop learners knowledge and understanding of good practice and professionalism in the care sector

Requisiti: Interviews, entrance tests, portfolios and auditions Entry onto this course does not require an interview, entrance test, portfolio or audition.

Programma

The Higher Diploma/Higher Apprenticeship Framework: Specialist Adult Social Care Pathway is made up of:

The Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services (80 credits at Level 5), undertaken with one of our training or College partners
PLUS

Two Middlesex University specialist work based learning modules (40 credits at Level 5):
1. A Specialist module in Dementia Care; Business, Quality and Service Improvement; or Mental Health/Person Centred Practice

PLUS

2. A final Leadership or Management project around ‘Responding and planning for Change’. This will be a live project negotiated with and carried out in your organisation.

Successful learners will be awarded a University Higher Diploma: Professional Practice in Leading and Managing Care Services (Specialist title) AND if appropriate a Higher Apprenticeship.

The Higher Diploma/Higher Apprenticeship programme aims to:

Develop the higher levels of specialist knowledge and skills required for leading service development in particular areas
Develop learners capabilities and confidence to lead and /or manage care services to ensure positive outcomes for individuals
Encourage effective partnership working and very effective communication skills
Develop learners analytical and problem solving skills and their ability to respond to change.
Provide learners in Care settings with career progression opportunities
