This module aims to provide all working individuals, irrespective of their job title, with the necessary knowledge in order to promote and improve the health of people, communities and population, and reduce health inequalities as well. On successful completion of this module you should be able to:
- Analyse public health concepts, theoretical perspectives and a variety of issues of population health and its improvement.
- Evaluate the strategic practice of surveillance and assessment of a population’s health and well-being.
- Understand the policy and service mechanisms that protect and promote a population’s health and well-being.
- Establish effective partnerships and work in collaboration with different organisations within the field of public health and health development.

Induction will take place on the first day of each module (excluding Mentoring).

- Coursework 1: 10 minute Individual Oral Presentation (20% of module mark).
- Coursework 2: 3000 word Essay (80% of module mark).
