The programme:
In today’s corporate world, almost all aspects of business – from administration, finance and customer contact to factory design and machine maintenance – are intricately intertwined with information technology. In this challenging bachelor’s, you will get what it takes to help companies – including their employees, machines and processes – to perform better and more sustainably in our rapidly digitalising society. You will soon feel at home in business administration, covering disciplines such as business modelling, finance engineering and project management. You will also become an IT expert with knowledge of programming, software design, the interaction between humans and technology, or ERP and workflow management systems (ERP stands for Enterprise Resource Planning; with an ERP system you automate logistical, administrative and financial business processes within an information and management system). This bachelor’s will help you understand the problems and challenges companies can face, equipping you with the skills needed to convert them into effective, future-oriented complex socio-technical and cyber-physial systems.

BIT INC: you and your fellow students form two fictional companies that specialise in providing IT solutions. You work together in project teams. Your customers are existing IT enterprises, who give quotation-based assignments.

In the BIT programme, you will be trained as a specialist in designing information systems that allow companies to improve their performance at various levels. Especially if you obtain a master’s degree after your bachelor’s, you will find plenty of job opportunities, even right here in Twente, the fastest growing industrial region in the Netherlands. Most of our students find a good job even before graduation – some can even choose between various offers.
You often end up in a position that bridges the gap between people – for example, management or system users – and IT. This can be in almost any sector: from energy, construction, and traffic & transport to the manufacturing industry. The financial sector and (online) marketing are also among the possibilities.
