Finance & Control - Avans University

The programme:
Finance & Control (international) is taught in English and many fellow students and lecturers come from abroad. 'International' also means learning about matters like dealing or investing in foreign currencies, recognising and bridging cultural differences and working on international projects.

Year 1
In the foundation year, you acquire the basic knowledge needed for your subsequent studies. The first year consists of 4 10-week blocks. In addition to the group project you work on, you attend classes. Courses are centred around finance, accounting, management accounting, corporate culture and international business. You take English classes and practise your digital skills. Every year you can obtain 60 ECTS credits. In the first year you must obtain 52 ECTS to be able to continue to year 2.

Advanced phase
In years 2-4, you gain in-depth knowledge of finance and control. In year 2 you will do a 5-month placement in an international organisation. In year 3 you will study at a partner university for 5 months. At the end of year 4, you will individually carry out a graduation project in an international organisation, working on advice or improvement ideas. Provided you spend 5 months outside the Netherlands you are free to decide where you want to train or study abroad.
