Master Sustainable Energy Technology - University of Twente

The programme
Year 1: The first year consists of 12 compulsory courses of 5 EC each. These courses form a well-balanced programme aimed to provide you with a broad foundation, including elements from technology as well as from entrepreneurship and innovation.
This core programme is made up of courses related to four themes:
- Energy sources;
- Technology and sustainability;
- Socio-economics;
- Design and system integration.

Year 2: In the second and final year, you will take advanced and specialised courses that will prepare you for embarking on your final project, which covers a major part of this year. During the second year, students learn to become a member of a new generation of engineers that will lead the renewable energy revolution. Engineers that are not only focused on technological solutions but also on the impact and implementation of innovative energy technologies. Experts to respond to the global energy challenge.
To achieve the in-depth knowledge to carry out the research assignment 15 EC of specialisations courses have to be chosen. These specialisation subjects should be chosen in the field of specialisation in consultation with the supervisors and can range from courses in the field of laser processing for solar cells and the design of process equipment to chemical reaction engineering, energy-efficient embedded systems and design methodology. Another 15 EC is devoted to an internship*.

With a Master’s degree in Sustainable Energy Technology, you will join the ranks of enablers, leaders and game changers in the transition towards sustainable energy systems all around the world. You will be a broadly equipped energy authority combining technological expertise with by a solid, hands-on understanding of economics, policy and innovation.
