This course provides concise information about the United Nations human rights system and detailed information on the treaty reporting process, including procedures and requirements. It includes guidance on the preparation of reports at national level including the importance of institutionalizing existing inter-ministerial structures and processes into so-called National Mechanisms on Reporting and Follow-up (NMRFs). It also highlights the role of other stakeholders, the United Nations system, National Human Rights Institutions and civil society in the reporting process.
