Final Paper

Students are responsible for a 3,000-word, double-space, final paper (not including references) that consists in a case study/research project investigating a particular research question related to the study of health, power, status and their psychosocial, economic and political correlates.

This paper can be an opportunity to integrate students’ learning across the different sessions of the course and deepen their thinking about a research topic on how power and status affects health, behaviours, thoughts, and emotions. See guidelines for the final paper at the end of this document for details.

Final Paper Presentation

Students are also responsible for a 10-slide power point presentation of the main contents of their final paper.

Classroom Participation

Students are also expected to cover the readings in order to come prepared to actively engage with the topic at hand as well as classmates and faculty. Your willingness to voice your opinions, your ability to listen closely to others without interruption, and to treat each other with respect even when disagreeing strongly will be highly appreciated. Laptops and other devices should be used only to refer to course reading materials.

**3000-WORD FINAL PAPER AND 10-SLIDE PRESENTATION MUST BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST 7 DAYS BEFORE THE EXAM USING THE COURSE WEBSITE
