Restoring medieval and renaissance paintings

The course aims to enrich your knowledge of Italian medieval and Renaissance art through a combination of theoretical lessons, practical workshops, and museum visits. Building on the fundamentals of art history, you will learn to paint with egg tempera, creating a replica of an ancient panel based on your individual skill levels. The instructor will assist you at every stage of the work. In the second part of the course, you will acquire the basics of art conservation, including understanding factors of degradation, conservation theory, and mastering practical conservation techniques. Museum visits and workshops will provide essential experiences to fully understand and internalize this fascinating subject.
