Impact assessment is essential for understanding the performance of existing social protection schemes and wider systems, and identifying effective measures to extend social protection. This course will go beyond consideration of one-off studies of individual schemes, to equip participants with the skills to dynamically assess the effectiveness and efficiency of social protection systems as they evolve over time.

Participants are officials committed to advance social protection through strong commitment and sound analytical skills who normally already have a number of years of work experience in social protection. They should hold bachelor or advanced degrees and a strong quantitative background in economics, business, public administration, political science, public policy, finance, actuarial studies, mathematics, statistics or related fields. Typical participants would be professionals working in - Key ministries responsible for the development and monitoring of social protection systems such as: -- Ministries of Labour -- Ministries of Finance and Planning -- Ministries of Health -- Ministries of Social Protection/ Social Affairs - Representatives of the social partners involved in the governance of social security institutions; - UN agencies working on social protection; - Non-governmental organizations engaged in social protection.Participants are officials committed to advance social protection through strong commitment and sound analytical skills who normally already have a number of years of work experience in social protection.
