IBM XIV Host Attachment & Interoperability Labs

This lab focused 2 day course aims to provide an overall understanding of the advanced business continuity functions that can be performed with IBM XIV. It has been written to teach everything from the basics of working with IBM XIV to performing advanced software-defined storage based administrative tasks and will enable anyone who is interested in implementing advanced IBM XIV based solutions. This lab based course accompanies the lecture course - SSA10WG. Objective Upon completion of this Lab based course you should be able to understand the following: • Installation of IBM XIV management tools, user management and access to Hyper-Scale Manager. • Creating and attaching volumes to a Windows host. • Configuring asynchronous mirroring between primary and remote XIV volumes and consistency groups. • Using Hyper-Scale Mobility for your online volume migration. • Concepts of multi-tenancy, cross-system consistency groups, capacity reports and working with XIV REST APIs. • Achieving the interoperability between IBM XIV and Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager, including host creation and volume attachment. • Concepts of IBM XIV Data Migration and provides a step-by-step analysis of the procedure.
