Emagister.it presents the KNX Basic Course and Certification Exam offered by Gewiss Professional for System integrators, Installers and Electrical Plant Designers with skills in basic concepts of Home and Building automation.
This five days course offers the participants the knowledge of HBES systems and KNX protocol, in order to to avoid the major mistakes during the design phase.
The course program consists of two parts. The first one will lead to the understanding of the KNX technology fundamentals, while the second one will explain the ETS software suite for configuration and commissioning of a single device or an entire system.

The course offers the participants the knowledge of HBES systems and KNX protocol, in order to to avoid the major mistakes during the design phase.

International KNX Partner
The contents of the KNX Basic Course are determined by the KNX International Association Standards: the course offered by GEWISS Professional has a more practical approach and a wide range of tutorials on working products.
1. theoretical and practical lessons, and all the needed materials
2. Lunches and coffee breaks are included in the course
3. ETS5 lite software license (enabling up to 20 devices per system), 200€ worth
4.Dongle to activate the software, 70€ worth
Yes, at the end of the course there is a theoretical KNX exam, with closed questions. There will also be a practical exam, where the student will develop a case with ETS5.
All in class GEWISS Professional PCs have incorporated the ETS5 Professional software suite.

COURSE PROGRAM
First part: The first part of the KNX course will lead to the understanding of the fundamentals of the KNX technology.
Theoretical content
- Introduction to HBES systems
- Electrical characteristics of bus devices
- KNX network topology, communication telegrams and data type
- Installation and protection aspects of a KNX network
Practical content
Practical exercises about:
- Analysis and design of a KNX network, with device addressing
- Choice of installation spaces
- KNX data type
- Telegram analysis and identification of the data type
Second part: This part of the course will explain the ETS software suite: during the class, the participants will receive all the information needed for the configuration and commissioning of a single device or an entire system.

- Start and configuration of ETS software
- Device addressing, group address comunication, functional parameters configuration
- Network and messages analysis

Practical exercises using the home automation case:
- ETS Project creation
