Managing a just transition to environmentally sustainable economies and societies

Internationally, progress has been made towards a clear political recognition of the challenge. In 2015, the International Labour Organization developed Guidelines for a just transition. In essence, the focus is on policy dialogue and coherence in order to design and implement country-specific macroeconomic, industrial, labour and skills policies that help enterprises prosper, generate decent jobs and protect vulnerable groups in the green economy.
