This course will contribute to an in-depth understanding of the relationship between the Decent Work Agenda and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. At the end of the course, participants will be able to advocate for the centrality of employment and decent work in national SDG processes, at both the formulation stage and the implementation and monitoring stages. Participants will be introduced to the ILO's Decent Work 4 Sustainable Development Resource Platform (DW4SD), an interactive tool that provides guidance and support in positioning decent work in SDG processes at the national level.

  • Good practices and case studies about the advancement of the DW-SD nexus

What will I be able to do?

You’ll become familiar with the DW4SD online platform, which helps development professionals plan for a more sustainable future.

  • Leverage the DW4SD tool when crafting, implementing, and examining national policies, strategies, and programs
  • Elevate and advocate for minority groups such as women, migrants, youth, refugees, people with disabilities, people living with HIV/AIDS, and indigenous and tribal peoples
  • Design and conduct structured discussions around the centrality of employment and decent work in national processes at the stages of formulation, implementation, and monitoring
