Fundamentals of Practice Nursing

Are you a qualified nurse who has been working in general practice for less than a year? This module will provide you with the fundamentals to provide safe, evidence-based and effective care for your patients.

The education and development of the practice nurse workforce is a key priority in healthcare. Our module will provide you, a registered nurse, who has been in general practice for less than a year, with a foundation for providing safe, evidence-based and effective care for patients and the ability to work as part of the primary health care team.

A professional career framework is required for nurses entering General Practice and this module represents the cornerstone upon which foundations can be laid. NHS values-based care and the "6C's" will be core themes running throughout this module.

• Minor illness
• Managing long-term conditions
• Wound care
• Sexual health
• Immunisation and vaccination
• Mental health awareness, including dementia care
