The evolution of traditional business models followed by the diffusion of digital technologies require firms to reengineer the traditional business units like operations, logistics, and procurement. Supply Chain managers are requested to manage global Supply Chains that integrate all stakeholders in unique networks, use evolved and intelligent systems to face the worldwide competition, and incorporate new business trends like sustainability, digital transformation, and omnichannel.

The Major in Global Supply Chain Management seeks to form managers for the implementation and the management of Supply Chains at a global level with a focus on technology. A successful Supply Chain requires strong managerial, technological, and strategic competences, to satisfy exigent consumers at a global level and integrate traditional channels with new and modern options. Therefore, the students of this Major will acquire managerial skills and strategic competences to implement, manage, and perform global Supply Chains and identify the most effective and appropriate technological solutions.

Identify the strategic partners and establish strong interdependencies among Supply Chain members. Build up a Global Supply Chain Management structure through the adoption of joint best practices. Optimize operations among various business functions and integrate within global Supply Chain settings.
Form strategic Supply Chains through long terms negotiation and agreements, implementation of ad hoc performance indicators and monitoring systems, creation of incentive mechanisms to pursue high-level goals.
Adopt the best technological solutions within a Supply Chain to integrate suppliers at a global level, design ad hoc collaborative programs, synchronize traditional business strategies in a Supply Chain perspective, as well as implement online, e-commerce, and omnichannel solutions.
Evaluate the environmental impact of Supply Chains, integrate the environmental targets and restrictions in a Supply Chain strategy, analyze sustainable technologies and select material, goods, and services by considering environmental targets. Assess the impact of Global Supply Chains on Corporate Social Responsibility goals and the Triple Bottom Line.
Reshape the Supply Chain strategies through digital technologies. Design and adopt Blockchains to create smart contracts. Integrate Artificial Intelligent systems for optimizing the decision-making process over the Supply Chain.


The Master is aimed at recent graduates with a BA who want to integrate their theoretical background with new competences and practical knowledge in Global Supply Chain Management, to start a professional career in several contexts, including: manufacturing firms, consulting companies, logistic providers, retailing firms, IT providers and service companies. Fluent English and personal motivations are required.

Programma

The curriculum is designed to ensure and support the progressive professional and personal growth of the students. Students will benefit from a productive learning experience made up of lessons, case studies, group work sessions, and a high-level faculty of both academics and professionals.

During the Master, students will receive constant support from Career Service who will help them increase their employability in the labour market and aid them in the search for a curricular internship.

This Master provides students with skills in Supply Chain Management and a comprehensive understanding of how technology can transform companies in various sectors and reshape the Supply Chain strategies.

Students will be able to obtain the Certified Supply Chain Professionals, which certifies worldwide that skills, competences, and knowledge in Supply Chain Management have been successfully acquired. This certification qualifies students according to the international standards recognized by Supply Chain professionals and linked to: strategic knowledge in managing Supply Chains, operative knowhow in integrating functions and processes, and technology adoption and information system support for Supply Chain Management.

INDUCTION WEEK

Induction week is an introductive week in which students can settle in and familiarize themselves with life on campus. Ice-breaking labs, seminars, workshops, and presentations will be organized for the students. Students will meet their classmates and will have a better idea of the services offered, as well as the curricular and extra-curricular activities planned.

LEARNING LABS

Learning labs focus on personal development. During the programme, students develop cross-functional and soft skills by attending sessions during which they will: cultivate intellectual flexibility; develop problem solving skills; learn to adapt in diverse situations; refine cross-cultural awareness.

INTERNSHIP

The curricular internship is generally done at the end of the Master and represents an opportunity for students to combine theory and hands-on experience, coming into direct contact with professionals working in the industry. Career Services supports students in their search for internship opportunities, thus helping to broaden students’ career prospects and giving them the possibility to acquire the necessary work experience, increasing and improving their skills and expanding their business network.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR

The Master lasts 12 months and it is composed of 4 terms. The first three terms include lectures, learning labs, and seminars. Term 4 is the Field Project/Internship.
