The International Tourism Management track at Breda University has given me many travel experience opportunities, in terms of field study, internships as well as exchange. I have been introduced to the tourism industry and the general knowledge of the industry through well-structured modules composed of lectures and seminars in the first year. Year 2 and 3 have been going more into depth in the following topics; Online Marketing, Experience Design, E-business, Finance, Destination development, etc. Other than the insightful lectures, seminars, projects, and field studies year 2 and 3 give the possibility to choose in specializations such as; Tourism Industry, Hospitality, Theme Park, Destination development, Change management, Sustainability etc. These specializations give guidance in directions that appeal to each student based on their preferences. It is important to mention that the International Tourism management study track opens many doors and possibilities to also go further in the directions of the specific specializations mentioned above. This means that it is very diverse and therefore gives space and freedom to learn from many domains that are inter-connected with the tourism industry and its components. I recommend this track to adventurous and very curious students that are keen to learn from new cultures and are not afraid to travel but also ready to learn from the important components in the tourism business which are online marketing, e-business, and finance.

After four years of following the International Tourism Management course I have learned a lot about the international tourism industry. The course is project focused in cooperation with real commissioners who work in the tourism industry. Personally, this helped me a lot with learning and gaining practical experience. Besides the regular lectures, guest lectures, workshops, bootcamps and meetings are part of the program. Additionally, business trips as well as field trips and excursions are organized as well. As a result, I highly recommend anyone interested in practically learning about the international tourism industry to look into all the possibilities that the Breda University of Applied Sciences has to offer!

I really like the academic focus of the program and doing research. I am glad the program is in English as tourism is an international industry, therefore I feel like it prepares you more regarding communication for future jobs. As it is almost certain that you get to work with people from different cultures and countries, I am happy that the classroom is quite international, as these students provide different perspectives from which you can learn quite a lot.
As the program is super broad, it enables you (at least me) to find out what you find important and what you really like, so you know what type of master you want to do. Personally, I had no clue what I wanted to do, and this program made me find out what it will be.While it is called tourism, I consider it to be more a study that gives you a very broad orientation of what is possible furthermore and what happens around you. And because it is so broad and not that specific, you are very easily eligible for master's programs: you might have to just follow a pre-master or select specific subjects during the minor in order to be admitted, rather than choosing a whole different program.
Additionally, the program is very small (not that many students) and the teachers have thus more time to help you out when you're struggling. You know everybody and everybody helps each other out.
The possibilities to go abroad are during the International Field Project and during the exchange (free choice / minor). The project enables you to be abroad for a whole month and the exchange is about 5 till 6 months of studying abroad or at another university in The Netherlands.

I would reconmend this study to everyone who is interesting in persuing a career in the leisure and event sector. This study will give you the tools and turn you into the professional te sector expects you to be. The teachers are very co-creative and have a lot of experience in the field, most are still working in the field also and all the information shared is always very up to date. Furthermore, every project during the study is for a real client, this means you build a big network during the study moments. Besides this I also did two internships, a minor and a thesis. Here I was able to grow my network and knowledge further, which I am really grateful for since having graduated! Overall, I would really suggest this program for a more practicle approach to studying in the best sector out there!

At the moment I am in my fourth and final year of the study of international leisure and event management. My time at Breda University has flown by; I got to know (in my opinion) the nicest city in the Netherlands: Breda, I made many national and international friends, I worked on my professionality, but above all: I felt at home at Breda University of Applied Sciences. Lecturers are very accessible and are always there for you. All the knowledge you acquire is not tested by many exams, but is put into practice. This way you not only get to know the leisure and event industry, but you also build a network.
I did an internship in the Netherlands and an internship in Asia (Kuala Lumpur). I really enjoyed it and I am happy that I got the opportunity to visit other countries and put my gained knowledge into practice. I have been able to do many different projects, for real clients. Something is actually being done with the input you gave and the concepts you create. That is something I really appreciate about this study.
The Breda University of Applied Sciences focused not only on Dutch students but also on international students. I am from the Netherlands myself, but I was pleased that I got to meet people from other countries. This study is also very accessible for international students: everyone speaks English. The level of English is generally very high in the Netherlands, which makes it easy for international people to feel at home. The international environment is something that I also really appreciate at Breda University.
I would definitely do this study again when I had the chance; I enjoyed every little moment at Breda University, my personal needs and learning goals were listened to and I made many new friends (both nationally and internationally).

I strongly recommend the International Leisure & Events programme at Breda University of Applied Sciences!
As a fourth-year student, I believe I acquired both great theoretical and practical knowledge by following this education.
Working with real-life clients and real-life cases considerably helped me building a professional network and being confident in the academical and professional fields.
Much attention is given to students in the ILM programme. Teachers know their students quite personally are always open to discuss schoolwork.
Schoolwork and projects mostly consist of group work, which I believe is great to improve communication, leadership, organisation and teamwork skills.

This study is way better than I expected. My original plan was to be an event manager but Creative Business combined all of my interest (production, marketing, content creation and a little bit of event management) so I decided to go with that one and I could be happier with the results. I have gained so much experience in all o the fields! I was an organization of Graduation Ceremony for our students, I have also been the director's assistant during our live shows, I have designed a mobile app and those are only a few of the projects we worked on. CB is a lot of teamwork but also independent work which still is a great part of a bigger project so you are always valued and important within the entire process. If you are looking for a course where you can let your mind be out there, creative and open, this is a great fit for you.

I’m a second-year Creative Business student at BUas. I’m really happy with my choice for this program. I always wanted to do a creative study but missed a business part at art academies. For me, I feel like I get to be creative but also learn a lot about management, finance, and marketing. Together with this I also think there is a good ratio between theoretical study and practical assignments. I get thought al lot of interesting theoretical information and almost immediately get the chance to learn how to use it in practical assignments. This also causes the classes to have a lot of variety. Because this is a broad and international program, everyone has their own interests and background. That makes group assignments more interesting to me. One last thing is that i love the facilities that the campus offers during the program, like camera equipment, audio suites, a radio station and the maclab.

Within the Hotel Management study you are working with high motivated students which is mainly the effect of the selection before-hand. Further, the teachers are enthusiastic and experiences within the hospitality industry. The teachers know you by name and are guiding you intensively to make sure that you develop yourself personally and professionally. The study is focussed on managing hotels, however, the study gives the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge off for example marketing, business law, ethics, economics, finance, research and design and more, what you can use in (almost) every company. Additionally, regularly you get the change to collect all your knowledge that you learned to implement in a real life situation/company.

Breda university of Applied Science provides with small-scale but of high-quality education. Hotel Management gives opportunity to practice and develop hospitality skills already in the first year (working on different position with the uni). All assignments and material are directly applied to the sphere of hospitality. Teachers are always willing to help students comprehend the material by discussing, explaining and applying to real-case scenarios. This programme also gives practical knowledge about wine and food. In general, there is a lot of practice and the material given can be easily applied on the workplace in the future.

Breda University of Applied Sciences - BUAS, is a great school. As of last year there is a newly built campus, existing of 3 beautiful buildings, which one of them is an old monestery.
I study built environemnt, and I love my study. I am in my second year. What we do is develop areas in an sustainable and futuristic way, for future generationals to experience. Our lecturers are proffesionals in their fields, we work with outside comapnies, get lectures from guests etc. We are thought to approach developing of a city/area in different ways than we thought in the begin.
Our lecturers are always there to help, we get critical feedback, which is needed. We learn to work as proffesional in groups, ouf course, with some supervision.
Overal its a great school and study. Teachers know you by name and not by a number, which is really amazing, then you feel as your own person and not an entity.
