HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT AND TOURISM
FOUR YEAR ASSOCIATE CERTIFICATE

Upon completion of the 2-year Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management associate certificate, continuing students can opt for a four-year program aimed to create professional leaders in the international hospitality sector.

The school of Business & Leadership offers a four-year certificate through the Department of Hospitality & Tourism Management. The program combines classroom concepts and theory with practical experience in order to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed for a future in the hospitality and tourism industry.

The internship program is an integral part of the four year study that doubly enriches the students' experience both culturally and educationally. Apicius has ongoing partnerships with industry professionals in the city of Florence and its environs in structures such as hotels, wineries, wine bars, restaurants, and clubs in which students will practice the concepts learned in the classroom. The internship practices and curriculum content is monitored by an Academic Board which includes the Academic Administration, supervising staff and coordinators who work directly with the students, and industry executives.

Admission Requirements
Interested applicants must submit an Application to Apicius International School of Hospitality respecting all application procedures and deadlines. Please consult the application for specific details on the application process.

Any student who has completed two years of college (60 semester hours) may apply for admission to the four-year certificate. Full credit will be granted for Associate in Culinary Arts and Hospitality degrees. All students, upon entering the program, must meet the Institution's Core Curriculum requirements in order to obtain the certificate. The curriculum will build upon prior knowledge obtained in previous Associate degrees, focusing specifically on a professional instruction of Hospitality and Tourism Management. A maximum of 60 lower division credits may be transferred from a junior or community college program. Students must complete an internship experience of 1000 hours of training experience in a hospitality or tourism structure.

Internship Program Requirements (12 credits)
Internship in the Hospitality Industry
Students will complete 1000 internship hours for a total of 12 credits. The hours are divided into 4 semesters (or 4 internship courses worth 3 credits each). Internships are available ONLY to continuing students, upon request, according to Italian laws and regulations.
